By booking services through Dennisphere (aka Christina Dennis), you’re agreeing to the terms below. These are here to set clear expectations, protect both of us, and keep the process smooth and respectful from start to finish.

1. general wedding officiant terms

communication

Most communication is handled via email to keep everything organized and easy to reference. Clear and timely communication is always a priority.

I’ll share the best number to call or text me if anything urgent comes up on the day of your ceremony/signing.

booking & payment

  • A signed agreement and full payment are required to officially reserve your date.
  • Availability varies by season; weekend spots are limited.

ceremony scope

  • All ceremonies are non-religious.
  • Services are designed to be simple, intentional, and aligned with the experience described on the website.
  • If you’re envisioning something outside of that scope, we’ll talk through it before booking to make sure it’s a good fit.
  • If changes are requested beyond the original scope of the agreed-upon service, I’ll let you know what’s possible and outline any adjustments to timing or cost.

marriage license & ID requirements

  • Couples are responsible for obtaining a valid marriage license prior to the ceremony or signing.
  • A photo/scan of your marriage license is required for review prior to all Simple Signings.
  • I am unable to perform a legal marriage without a valid marriage license and photo IDs present at the time of service.

travel

Travel beyond my standard service area may require an additional travel fee, which will always be discussed and agreed upon in advance.

cancellations, rescheduling, & refunds

  • marriage license signing

All Simple Signing payments are non‑refundable due to the limited availability and nature of this service, but I’m always happy to reschedule based on availability.

  • ceremonies

Your ceremony booking includes a non-refundable retainer ($150 for onsite ceremonies, $200 for offsite). Any remaining balance will be refunded if you cancel more than 60 days before your ceremony.

Ceremony payments are non‑refundable if you cancel within 60 days of your ceremony date.

  • if I need to cancel

If I’m unable to perform your ceremony or signing due to illness or an emergency and we aren’t able to reschedule, a full refund will be provided.

right to decline services

I may decline a ceremony or signing (before or after it’s booked) if something doesn’t align with my values, boundaries, availability, or the services I provide — or if safety or misrepresentation concerns come up.

If that ever happens, I’ll communicate clearly and kindly, and refund any payments in full.

circumstances beyond our control

Sometimes things happen that no one can reasonably control — such as severe weather, natural disasters, illness, government restrictions, or other major emergencies.

If something like this prevents the ceremony or signing from happening as planned, we’ll first try to reschedule. If rescheduling isn’t possible, we’ll work out the next best option based on the circumstances and any services already provided.

2. property-specific terms

If you’re getting married on our property, the following additional terms apply:

guest count & use of space

  • Outdoor ceremonies are limited to a maximum of 10 guests. This limit is based on property and liability considerations.
  • Since most ceremonies are fairly short, guests can stand if they’d like — but we will have chairs set up if you’d rather have everyone seated.
  • Our property is a private home, not a public venue. Please respect boundaries, stay within designated areas, and supervise any children at all times.

    timing & arrival

    Please plan to arrive no more than 5–10 minutes early — since this is our private home and not a public venue, this helps keep things running smoothly on our end. Late arrivals may shorten your ceremony window or require rescheduling depending on the day’s schedule.

    weather

    We roll with normal Ohio weather (wind, light rain, etc.). If needed, we’ll move to the indoor ceremony space to get out of the elements. If conditions are severe enough to be a safety concern, we’ll talk about rescheduling.

    photography

    • For both ceremonies and signings, I’ll take a few celebratory phone photos for you and email them with your license filing confirmation. These photos are complimentary and not intended to replace professional photography.
    • Photos are welcome during outdoor ceremonies. Your photographer counts toward your guest limit.

    pets

    Dogs are welcome, and must remain on a leash and be under control during your visit.
